Raw Applesauce
This is a super-easy raw gala applesauce. It's a little more gritty than the cooked kind, but to me, so worth eating because it's fresh and so healthy!
Ingredients:
6 gala apples (or other sweet apple) with peels in tact
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
Directions:
Cut apples into chunks...
...and process ingredients in a food processor until smooth...
This took us about ten minutes to make and resulted in a beautiful deep rust-colored sauce...
The apples provided plenty of sweetness and I quite literally could not stop eating it. Enjoy!

There's nothing I like more than a good, raw applesauce. Since you used your food processor, I have a question for you. It sounds silly, but I'm just trying to make sure that my kitchen is properly outfitted as I make a lifelong transition to eating whole foods. What exactly is a food processor? How many/what kind of blades should it have? What should I look for when buying one? Any advice would be appreciated!
ReplyDeleteAs for tomorrow, I'll try this recipe for breakfast with my BlendTec blender. That will hopefully be good enough.
Tina, one of the food processors I use is the big one...

I also have one like this, for making small amounts of baby food and the like...
